Volunteer
All volunteers must complete an application and comply with the Archdiocesan policy for the protection of children and youth.Here at Our Lady of Sorrows we adhere
strictly to the rules and guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of
Baltimore for the protection of children and youth. Most of
the necessary forms and materials are available below, and all of
them are available at the
Archdiocese website and in the office.

All volunteers, ages 14 and over, must complete the Archdiocese of Baltimore Application for Volunteer Service, review a copy of A Statement of Policy for the Protection of Children & Youth, the Code of Conduct for Church Personnel in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
If a volunteer will have Substantial Contact with children, then the following must be completed before he/she begins to serve in the Archdiocese of Baltimore:
- Application for Volunteer Service completed
- Names of references provided and checked
- Criminal History Screening completed Volunteer Criminal History Screening Consent Form
- Training received regarding child
abuse and protection of children, including STAND video

- If a volunteer will be driving children he/she must complete a Driving Record Check Consent Form.
- Submit the Application, Criminal History Consent Form, the online training completion certificate, and a completed Policy Verification Form to Jo Massino (Screening Coordinator)
The Responsible Administrator and Screening Coordinator will confirm that these procedures have been completed by all volunteers. If an applicant fails or refuses to complete any part of the screening procedures, then he/she cannot serve as a volunteer. The Responsible Administrator informs the individual that he/she cannot begin or continue his/her volunteer service until he/she has complied with all procedures.
